Going this morning for a CT scan following the implant on June 2. So far all
of the side effects have been pretty typical. I had a foley for two days and
had no urinary difficulties for about two weeks, then it began with the
hourly nightime trips with urgency and hesitation, no real problems during
the day though. That lasted for about a week and has since improved quite a
bit since the Dr. increased the dosage of Cardura (I take it for BP), no
Flomax as they are similar drugs. When the urinary difficulty began I took
Ron's advice and saw the Dr. to rule out an infection. My only complaint is
the damn Lupron, but it did it's job, so I can  put up with it for another
couple of months. If I recall, Larry has the same sentiment towards Zoladex.

Good luck Tom. Can't wait for your report. Hope all goes well!

Sounds like you're experiencing all the normal symptoms, Tom.  I'm
approaching 8 weeks and still having hesitation problems and some
slight urgency. The doc warned me to stay off bicycles, horses, and
riding mowers.  (That last was the only welcome advice to come out of
all this.)  But I'm learning that even less obvious activities--like
jogging and even riding in the car for a long time--tend to irritate
the prostate and make things worse.  Still, though, if it gets no
worse than this, I consider myself lucky (even more so if the cancer
is gone for good).  So hang in there.  Hopefully, this will all be a
dim memory someday.

Ron,
It all sounds pretty much like the norm, with the exception that I
experienced the urgency and hesitation a little earlier than most folks,
that caused me to question the possibility of infection as you had mentioned
earlier. The Dr. ruled that out and modified my Rx for Cardura (an alpha
blocker similar to Flomax).
I'm not ready to see who can pee the farthest yet, but I feel a lot better
and have been getting better sleep without the constant hourly trips to the
john.

My next goals are to finish with the Lupron and subsequent testing a few
months after that.
