Looks like crap I've been getting in email. I'm wondering if people
are sending this stuff without them even knowing they may have a
trojan horse on their machines which may cause it?

This appears to be genuine SPAM since I checked out the person who sent it.
She gets a commission for any unsuspecting person she gets to sign up. The
insurance does not appear to pay anything. The Company "negotiates" with the
Dr or Hospital and in plain terms - if you don't take our "reduced offer"
then you won't be paid anything at all. Alot of providers may reduce the
charges to save the expense of collections and lawsuits and this is what the
"customer" pays.
As far as Drug savings - they don't pay anything either. Their website
connects you to some Canadian Pharmacies.
Unfortunately there will be those who will fall for this scam and sign up.
The people offering this crap and the woman who put the info on the Net
should fined or jailed.
hi folks - we've all gotten tired of spams like this thread started. but
this is what i found out.
i live in indiana. i don't know if every state has this plan. i can
only report to you what i've know for sure.
as you know, my wife has had a ton of health problems and with just
having diabetes and three back surgeries. her insurance was high. i
did have insurance for her until 1995 but it got so expensive then and
you can only imagine what it would be like at todays' prices. my plan
with blue cross was over 500 dollars a month and that was for 5000
dollar deductible and 20% co pay after that. not a good plan, but the
only thing we could find. so, i would have to pay 11,000 dollars out of
my pocket (premiums and deductible) before they would pay the first
penny.
then, the heart attacks, and rest of the heart problems hit. now, go
and try to find insurance.
well, i found that for insurance companies to operate in this state, it
is required that they HAVE to take a certain number of high risk people
or they will loss their license to do business in the state.
i had to fill out an application and pay 25 dollars - this money was to
go to the insurance agent who fills everything out because that is the
only money they make on this. the application goes to the state and if
you meet their standards as to not being able to get insurance then
they mandate the insurance company to write the policy. the high risk
cases are spread evenly among the insurance companies so no one company
is singled out and they can't raise the rates because you are a special
case.
we fell under two qualifications - 1. heart attack and 2. you had to be
turned down by two or more insurance companies for coverage.
the premiums are expensive. about 1000 dollars a month. but i can't be
cancelled and there are not pre-existing conditions. in order words,
they HAVE to pay. i have a 1500 deductible for medical and 150
deductible for medicines. as you know, the medicines can eat you out of
house and home and they are covered.
the way this plan works, the meds are sent by mail for a 3 month supply
at a time and the cost is 30 dollars per med. regardless how expensive
the medicine.
now, it's only for my wife. i'm not covered. i have the va to take
care of my medical until age 60 which is coming up shortly.
expensive plan for the wife - yes. but i didn't know that the state had
a program like this and we have been on it for 2 years.
last year, just the one trip to the hospital because she had heart
attack symptoms and they put a stent in and sent her home cost over
61,000 dollars. can you believe that? the insurance paid it. so, i
think that even though it is expensive, it has saved what assets i do
have. and blue cross is what the state assigned me.
if you have cancer - try to get insurance if you are not covered.
check out your own state and see what they have in terms of what i've
described. i didn't know it existed all these years, but it is very
real and this information should get out for those who need it.
