piss like a racehorse Yippee :-)

Had my cystoscopy and BNI on Monday and the results are very pleasing.
It seems I may have taken a step backwards in the incontinence dept but
the uro told me that now that I'm no longer straining to pee the
exercises should have a better effect in th near term.

I spent 2 nights in hosp with a catheter in for the first 24 hrs (a 30ml
balloon, boy did that sting when they pulled it out!) then just
monitored input/output for the next 24hrs.  I'm glad to be home and will
be going back to work next week.

Well, I had to laugh. Right before we put our granddaughter to bed tonight
(normal Tuesday night visit with her) we had watched something on TV that
had a short clip containing Muhammad Ali. And we were laughing about his
wonderful sense of humor which fortunately he seems to have retained.
Naturally, she had no idea who he is. So we were trying to tell her who he
is. So I'm thinking maybe you saw the same clip but instead it's "piss like
a racehorse Yippee :-)" LOL

Anyway, congratulations on the free-flowing stream!

Hi Dave,
Your lucky in getting your catheter out so soon. I had mine for two weeks
and it was a pain in the dick. Periodicaly I would pass scar tissue that
sometimes would sting but other than that I was OK. Sometimes the scar
tissue would cause a restriction in flow until it would pass. I will be
curious how long it takes for you to get complete bladder control. It took
me 3 1/2 months. I'm doing fine now though.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Ron,

I know what you mean about that.  My post-RP catheter was with me for
almost 3 weeks and I couldn't wait to get rid of it.  When they told me
that I had to have another one in after this latest procedure I wasn't
too happy but only 24 hours so not too bad.

I'm now 10 weeks post-RP and am using 3 to 4 pads a day.  Hopefully I'll
start to see some improvement soon as I am returning to work next week.
