Yesterday spent some time looking at other supposed "support"
newsgroups.  Was appalled by what I saw.  I have said before that I though
there was a great bunch of people here, but after what I saw yesterday I
have a new appreciation of what we have here.  Let's hope it stays that way
(but I guess we hope for fewer new members).

   Thank you.

knowledge is power - growing old is mandatory - growing wise is optional
"Many more men die with prostate cancer than of it. Growing old is
invariably fatal. Prostate cancer is only sometimes so."

I agree. I stumbled in here a long time ago looking for answers just like
most folks do. What I found was solid information and support from the guys
who had BTDT. These guys got me through some really low times, kept me
pushing forward and looking up.

Thank you!  I suppose that we stick to the real life facts, and have a lot of
people who have learned a lot.  I am a bit surprised that we maintain a good
knowledge base and don't lose all of our good people through death or cure.  We
have lost a few over the two years I have been here.  I expect to stay around
for one to ten years.  Next week I get another PSA and see if I am still on
track.

Jan. 5, 2001,  PSA 5.2
Jan 10, 2001, PSA 10.4 (different lab).
Feb 20, 2001, PCa in 6 of 8 cores, Gleason 4 + 3 = 7
Apr. 25, 2001, a few PCa cells in seminal vesical, none in lymph nodes, margins
clear. Gleason 8 (9?).
Jul 9, 2001, PSA 10.5, began Casodex & Proscar.
Oct 10 to Dec 25, 2001, external beam radiation, 37 treatments.
Jan 5, 2002, PSA 1.1
Jun 10, 2002, PSA 10.7, began Leukine injections.
Dec 12, 2002, PSA 12.5, added thalidomide tablets.
Aug 15, 2003, PSA 34.5, first Lupron injection.
Oct 17, 2003, began 24 week chemotherapy regime.
Dec 6, 2003, PSA 23.2
Feb 3, 2004, PSA 34.5, bone scan improved.
Feb 14, 2004, PSA 10.5
Feb 29, 2004, PSA 32.1
Mar 13, 2004, PSA 11.2, bone scan better than Feb 3.
May 5  ?

If this one is in the 30s again, I'll get myself a nice bottle of Scotch and
find a nice gutter... ;-}

I've said it before, Danny.  I think yours is the most facinating watch of
the bunch.  I'm curious as to John Preston's results, but you seem to be the
first to show signs of beating the bastard.
