Post treatment PSA

I had a test done at one month after treatment, but
that doesn't count because I was still under the
influence of Lupron, which would hold the PSA
very low even in the absence of other treatment.

Today I got the results my 3 month post-treatment
test.  I had two HDR brachytherapies and 23
EBRT treatments - the last one on Jan. 22.  The
testosterone reading they took was quite high -
indicating (I think) that the Lupron is completely
worn off.

The lab reported my PSA as less than 0.2.  According
to my doctor, her lab uses a coarse test that
doesn't record numbers below .2.  So the
actual value could be anywhere from 0 - .2.

It's better than I had dared to hope for.  The
doctor had expected a higher value that, she
hoped, would eventually settle below 1.0 and
stay there.

I know I've been lucky.  I wish the best of
luck to everyone else too.

Hello
Alan,
You are on a great track.  Yes, you are lucky, like all of us. Being
diagnosed and treated.
Keep us posted.

Alan,

That's great news. I'll bet you don't miss the Lupron.

0.2 on a scale of 0.2 to 3000 is perfect!

Congratulations.
