Hi !

Some of you may remember my previous posts here.

My father had his prostate surgery in May of 2000. He was 55 at the time.
His Gleason score was 7 (3+4). His pre-op PSA was 2.15. Post-RP pathology
report showed that he had two positive margins at the surgery + peri-neural
invasion was present. Gleason score was confirmed to be 7 (3+4).

In any case, my dad received his latest post-RP PSA yesterday (March 2004).
Almost 4 years after the surgery my father's PSA is 0.04.

We are so happy with this result. All this time his PSA has been moving up
and down between <0.02 and =0.08 (it never reached 0.1). This is very
encouraging taking into account the fact that he had 2 positive margins + a
very high Gleason score.

To all people who have just been diagnosed, please do not despair. Even if
your post-RP pathology is not the best, there is still hope that the cancer
has been stopped early enough.

All the best and undetectable PSAs to all.

Glad to hear it. And thanks for letting us know. I still have hubby's
positive margin report lurking in the back of my mind. He's supposed to have
another psa for his 43rd birthday next month. With your news it makes me
hopeful we'll see many more birthdays to come.
