It's now only 3 days to go before the cath comes out on Monday.  I guess
things must be happening because as of today I've started leaking
big-time around the cath.  A friend who had his op 1 week prior to me
reported similar leakage at about the same time frame.  He had his cath
removed Monday this week (4 days ago) and tells me he is going through
4-5 pads a day now, so that's my next challenge.  I must admit that I'm
not looking forward to that but hey, a lot has happened in the last
couple of months that I wouldn't have anticipated and I've handled that
so I'll handle this too.

I had the same problem. I would spray all over during a BM. I did ok
post-cath removal. I'm about 2 1/2 months post-op now, and still drip a
little and the occasional "spurt" that follows strong urges every couple of
days or when bending over a certain way, etc. It's been getting better
slowly. It looks like I'll fall in the standard category of being mostly
continent by 3 months or so. I would only use two pads/day - one day - one
night, except I run regularly and I get them wet from sweating.

I'm not happy about having to wear briefs. I had worn boxers since high
school until after the RRP. I'm using women's "Always" pads inside briefs,
and now that it's getting warm outside I'm getting warmer inside - not too
comfy. Otherwise I don't have to do anything special except make sure I'm
"adjusted" on the pad.

You're right, you'll handle it, however it works out.
