At his request, Ipunty's update follows.
Ipunty checking in. Hope this note finds all you fellow cancees in
good health and cheer. I myself am, surviving the cure, as I like to
say. It has now been two years since my initial lymph node excision
an the discovery of what turned out to be cancer at the base of my
tongue and in another month that will include the major surgery. The
treatment has changed me without a doubt. But happily that has all
been physical. Mentally I am as I always was albeit a bit more
iridescent thanks to the invention of the cyclotron, particularly
"Encore" the name of the one that gave me 38 doses. Hmmmm, maybe I
was thinking of effervescent? Or incandescent? Oh well, must be
chemo brain or something like that. Yes, I had chemo too. The net
result has been that while the physical has changed and I am aware of
it all of the time, it is tolerable. What has become intolerable is
the economy, the war in Iraq, and a case of electile dysfunction that
has me worried about our future. The saddness comes from realizing
that the one I can't change and the other, while I should be able to,
I can't either. Oh dear, I digress. Well, it must be chemo brain or
something like that. No joke <g>. Take care and stay well and
remember, we're all in this together. Your fellow carcomaniac, ipunty
Hello groupies,
Next scan(s) in June. Besides a poor immune system, asthma, etc., I am
doing alright. I wish I did not have to take so many antibiotics so that my
immune system could heal, but I don't have any alternative. I take boo-coos
of supplements; garlic, C, B, selenium, GSE, etc. etc. etc. too.
Great to see US again! Also Marc Bissonnette - I enjoy your posts, your
attitude, your strength and your faith. Kudos.
Take care all, my prayers are with you.

Aww, thanks, Tracey :)
I think that given everything else in my life that could be termed as "less
than positive", if I took any attitude other than the one I've got, I'd go
stark, raving mad :)
All I need now is for an asteroid strike on my house that damages
absolutely nothing other than my house :) (My neighbour's a priest, so he's
safe: My other neighbour's a soldier in the Canadian forces, so being a
hero, she's safe - Should just be my house where the crater would be :) :)
:)

Hello Tracey,
It's good to hear from you again.
Do you have air purifiers? A friend of mine has one beside her bed and another
in the living room and she hasn't mentioned breathing problems much lately, so I
was curious about if you have any.
Good luck with the scan in June.
