Lung surgery went ok

Had my lung surgery done on Friday morning and that went well. Now I'm
waiting for my follow-up appointment with the surgeon to find out the
results of the pathology tests. The concern  is that I had a tongue
lesion almost 14 years ago, head and neck cancer 3 years ago and now
this "nodule" on one of my lobes. I'm concerned that it is the same
cancer that has spread to my lung. I'm just a little anxious that it
will just keep spreading.

Best of luck and positive thoughts, wow surgery that a a few years
ago      you would have been  in the hospital a week or more and you
are home in days. Did the surgeon say how things looked? Waiting is
the worst.

Thanks for the kind words. The surgeon said that he wanted to give the
pathologist enough time to do some more extensive testing (I think he
mentioned doing more stains than he would normally do). He did say that
he saw nothing more than the nodule that "picked up" (lit up?) in the
recent scan, and that he removed a good margin around that.

I also was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I could go home. Just one
night in the hospital! The thing that surprised me the most was how much
better I felt as soon as the doctor removed the tube (I guess the
drainage tube) from the incision. Almost immediately, I felt better.

Best of luck, David.
I'll hope it was a false positive or if it is cancer, they got it all..
