I lifted this from another site today:

There appears to be a definition proposed by the Division of
Professional Registration in the Missouri legislature that would
make what we do a crime.
334.0101 will not allow anyone who is not a physician, surgeon or
other practitioner whose scope of practice is defined by Missouri
statute to be involved in the ... evaluation, diagnosis,
treatment,... prescription recommendation, prevention, cure or
surgery for any human injury, disease, pain, deformity, defect,
wound, fracture, infirmity, ailment, physical or medical condition,
real or imaginary ... [end quote]Old Bill

Hrm, I doubt it would be applied to newsgroup postings and postulations
(too hard to enforce) - Given what I was seeing on CNN today about the ease
of teens acquiring prescription drugs over the 'net, I would imagine that's
what it's targeted at... (Just my guess, anyway)

Ditto. We're not evaluating, diagnosing, etc. here---we're just
supporting and encouraging. While we sometimes encourage others to
bring up treatments, foods, etc. to their professionals, it seems only
the spammers actually tell patients to use a particular treatment. I
don't read every post, but I can't recall seeing anyone other than
Steph (a medical professional) doing much in the way of diagnosing,
and he's very careful about it. I just don't see where we in ASC
violate this proposed law. As to freedom of speech, it has always
been limited; fraud and "fire in theater" come to mind. What am I
missing?
