Notice to all posters on alt.support.cancer:
This newsgroup endeavors to be a resource for both the first time user
as well as those of you who are more experienced Usenetters. Don't
forget, you were a first time user once yourself. Abuse, flames, and
mockery of others will not be tolerated. Writing in ALL CAPS is tantamount
to SHOUTING and is rude, everyone can read what you write without resorting
to SHOUTING.
Respectful disagreement and criticism is always welcome on this group.
Disrespect, trolling, name calling and/or anything that could be construed
as
abusive in this forum will not be tolerated and will result in
the immediate termination of posting privileges--NO exceptions. I will also
report you to the abuse desk of your ISP. You
know who you are. Some of the policies set for this group seem
to be considered unreasonable by some posters. Some of the comments I
have seen clearly indicate that the poster is not aware of the legal
ramifications by which I am subjecting myself in allowing certain
postings. If you cannot trust my judgment when I make the decision to
remove or edit postings, then this newsgroup is best forgotten by you.
QUOTE:
"then this message board is best forgotten by you"
I would like to say that this was not a flippant comment. In fact, I
practice what I preach, and it would certainly behoove all of you to
follow my example as referenced below.
After regularly participating in another newsgroup for about 1-1/2
years, I developed a major philosophical difference with the moderator
and other members of that group. In fact, I received a warning from
him that further comments along the lines I posted would result in
termination of my posting privileges (they were in no way abusive, by
the way, as that's not my style). It is his newsgroup and he has every
right to enforce his own rules. I did not respond to his message at
all (which is certainly unlike some people who have sent me extremely
abusive emails) but rather immediately deactivated my login from his
group and removed it from my browser quick links. That was my way of
saying "adios"!!
The issue that was the basis of this philosophical difference causes
me to regard him with no respect whatsoever, but nothing would have
been accomplished by being nasty. DO remember this before you hit that
"send" button"!
Again, folks, let's all think TWICE before being critical - we are all
adults and there is absolutely NO excuse for the childish behavior
that has been the norm by some of you on this group as of late!

Perhaps I'm being a technical pedant here, but how do you plan to remove
posting priveleges in an unmoderated alt.* Usenet group ?
(I'm certainly not a fan of those who abuse *.support.* groups, but am a
fan of accuracy)

Posting anonymously like a sort of nanny-cop-teacher isn't very adult.
Nor is pretending to be some sort of "official" with some "authority" to
tell us off.
