Hello Maria
and welcome to the newsgroup.
I'm sorry about your husband. I did see your post on the cancer newsgroup a
while ago.

Do stay with us. What you have to do to get and keep our attention, is to keep
posting on questions, as they come up.
Otherwise, it's easy to "get lost" amongst the other newsgroup posts.

If you feel like venting or sharing your concerns, please do not hesitate.
We'll be here for you as best we can.

The diabetic odor is "fruity with some acetone" type smell.
If you've ever used some of the nail polish removers, some of them have acetone
on them.
I remember the scent well.

If it's something else, you may wish to contact his doctor, unless you can find
a reasonable explanation somewhere on his body. Is he up and around? Or lying
down a lot?  Bedsores can maybe be a problem if he's not moving around a lot.

Please stay in touch
Hugs
J

Could  be as simple as a Urinary Tract Infection that can be treated no
problem.
