Hello,
Well, I'm stumped, because I can't get that second hospital web page to
work for me..computer problem.
Here in Canada the oncologist would refer to the radiation oncologist
(or they would be one and the same) and we'd be certain they had the
correct qualifications. What you want is someone who is board certfied
(American Board of Radiology) and accepts your type of medical insurance
and is experienced in both types below. The external beam radiotherapy
should not be a problem. So maybe call both and make sure they're
experienced in "internal implants" - speak to the Director of Radiation
Therapy Services ? Then speak to their administrative staff to make sure
your insurance will cover the procedures?
Because according to this website, it's possible that you might have two
types of radiation
http://www.eyesontheprize.org/FAQ/tx/rad.html
"I was required to have five weeks of external pelvic radiation, and
then a twenty-four hour internal "implant".
I could not find a support group on the above page for that city either
to ask some of them, but if you want to try one for a city nearby

When I searched at ASCO http://www.asco.org/ac/1,1003,_12-002215,00.asp
for your city and state, I got your "Rost" and
Dale A. Wickstrum , MD (but no telephone number and no mention of what
hospital or centre)

Board Certifications: RadiationOncology (radiation treatment of cancer)
I'm sorry, I wish I could be of more help. Watch for other replies,
while you work on it at your end.
Best,
J
