They just discovered it before Christmas.  She had a pep test in June
which was normal.  Now I understand that they stage it at 0-B (she's
in Canada) and scheduled surgery in Feb.

My question at this point is, is this length to surgery (over 1 month)
normal for this type of cancer?  Should she be considering an earlier
surgery?

TIA.

Hello Peter,
Where is she?  **

The shortest waits in Ontario are in Toronto (31 days and 43 days)
depending on the hospital.
I don't totally trust the web page I'm getting this from because:
1) some hospitals don't report their wait times  and their wait times can
change
2) (get longer) as things happen such as no OR's available due to crashes,
holidays, a rush from other areas of the province etc.

The numbers on the webpage are for all gynae cancers. I think it's fair to
say that ovarian cancers are rushed through faster.

""Sone doctors know where to get in faster.
I might be able to find wait times for (some) other Provinces.

She lives in Toronto.  Question is, is this length of wait for surgery
appropriate for her cancer.  I understand it's 1B, but no additional
details.

Should be okay, Peter.
I would think that if the histology was aggressive, they would rush her through
faster.
Toronto is the best place for "fast", in Ontario.

I'm sure it's hard waiting, but try not to worry too much.
