Please pray for Berky and his family. I received word that he's not doing
very well, and the end is near. For those who don't know him, Berky (Maynard
Berkowitz) was very active in this group -- then took off for a while. He
will forever be "Berky the Warrior" (his former signature line) to me -- he
has fought this fight with such courage and bravery.
Thanks!
Love,
Trish

The "warrior" was one of the first, and most helpful, to respond to me when
I was diagnosed in 2000. My family wishes him and his family the very best
and we will have them in our thoughts. I hope his wisdom endures in his
posts and writings.

Trish:
I understood he passed away earlier this summer. Is that not correct?

No, he's still hanging in there. I received that email notification yesterday
morning.

See the bottom of the page. It says he passed away early summer. Are they
mistaken?? I sure hope so.

It's an error. I am in touch with a person who has speaking with him (or his
wife) by telephone.

I don't know Berky, but I have our cats purring for him and the rest of
us are sending out healing thoughts and wishes for him to feel better
soon.

I guess it's appropriate to remind everyone of the booklet he helped
distribute to anyone who needed it. The online version of "Choices: Living
with Cancer, Dying with Dignity" is here:
