I had 8 Neulasta injections during the course of my Chemo. It may do
well by the white blood cell count, but it made my chemo twice as bad.
The TV commercial states "Mild to moderate bone pain may be experienced
when taking Neulasta"...My @ss. I am 32 years old, and this stuff made
me feel like I was 85 for 3 to 5 days after each injection. Every major
joint group in my body ached deeply (hips, shoulders, elbows, knees).
At any rate, enough of my rant...my insurance company was paying about
$2800 per injection. FWIW, I live in NE Ohio.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time in chemo. However, just to show
that all things affect everyone differently, I am on my 6th of 8 Neulasta
injections. I had some bad bone pain one time and I'm not even sure
that was the Neulasta as it occurred almost a week later and was also
about a week out from a change in my chemo drug (to Taxol). I'm 52
years old, out of shape and recovering from 2 major surgeries just
prior to my chemo/Neulasta injections. I really believe the shots have
helped ward off infections and such and kept me out of the hospital.
True it's expensive, but my experience on that is like yours price-wise
and my insurance company is paying it.

The Neulasta ads make me angry....I got the impression it was a pill you
get at the pharmacy. Had no idea it was an injection that cost an arm
and a leg!
