Atlantic Canada's first stand-alone hospice for people with terminal
illnesses opened Tuesday in Saint John.
Bobby's Hope House, which is located in the city's north end, was named
after Catherine "Bobby" Lawson, who died of cancer in March.
Hospice Greater Saint John founder Nancy Grant said terminally ill people
will be able to come to Bobby's Hope House during the day for care and
socializing.
Grant hopes the daytime facility will eventually be able to offer
around-the-clock care as well.
"Our vision is for a residential hospice, which will be 24-hour care for
people who cannot be cared for at home," she said.

When she became ill with terminal cancer, she decided that she would like to put
some of her money into the project. What part don't you like about it?

I agree. The Bobby part sounds like a little kid & then Hope House -
hope for what? A peaceful death, I'd think. Not a very dignified or
descriptive name for what it really is. If I did go there, I sure
wouldn't want to have to tell anyone about it.

Talked with a friend (NB perspective), and she agrees with you both.
