Bobby's Hope House, which is located in the city's north end, was named after Catherine "Bobby" Lawson, who died of cancer in March. Hospice Greater Saint John founder Nancy Grant said terminally ill people will be able to come to Bobby's Hope House during the day for care and socializing. Grant hopes the daytime facility will eventually be able to offer around-the-clock care as well. The Bobby part sounds like a little kid & then Hope House - hope for what? A peaceful death, I'd think. Not a very dignified or descriptive name for what it really is. If I did go there, I sure wouldn't want to have to tell anyone about it.
