*Yawn*  Anyone else getting tired of this one?  Funniest place I've seen
it turn up so far was in a walking group.  The thought of all those
macho, rugged outdoor people trotting up some mountain or other in
fashion heels...

I'm so glad they're not going to spam mail though.

Maybe they have the very latest in walking shoe fashion as well.

I actually worked with a woman who wore stilettos to the company golf
tournament.  Kept staying in the cart complaining her heels sank into the
turf.

I accidentally sent a woman flying at work once.  You see, we had this
revolving door, and if you gave it a decent shove it would go round
rather fast.  Fun!  There was a woman in front of me.  50s probably,
hair bottle blonde, all sort of bouffant.  Lots of make up, not the most
attractive legs, slightly overweight and distinctly top-heavy, mini-
skirt... You get the picture...  I thought she was out of the door, but
apparently not.  She'd have still been all right though, had she not
been tottering on the most ridiculous stilettos I'd ever seen...

The security guard who helped her up was doing his best not to laugh,
and I had to nip up the stairs smartish so she wouldn't see me giggling
helplessly.

Sorry :-)

Nowt wrong with practical footwear.  I have one pair of 'posh' shoes,
black, flattish heel, slip on, about a fiver from Lidl.  I have worn
them once or twice and being slip on, as soon as my tootsies are safely
stowed under the table they slip off again.  Other than that I have
'sports' sandals (Merrells) and a pair of Meindl hiking boots.  And
that's it.  I live in the sandals and wear the boots when the sandals
are impractical, like when doing field archery or when hiking.  The
sandals have been with me to weddings, funerals, work, college, around
the house, to the shops...  I don't actually care what my feet look like
as long as they're comfy.  Uncomfy feet are extremely unpleasant.

Fig, I just bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals from QVC. They are adorable
and the most uncomfortable suckers. I will not return em either. Just added
a pair of short socks.

I wore my birkies out.  Oh, boy did I.  Raised many a brow when I'd
step out in those worn-out things, but comfy.  Give them a chance,
Betsy;  they feel funky at first.  If  they rub, maybe the socks will
help break them in for you.  And this company I'm working for has them
on their 'inappropriate' footwear list along with Crocks.  They're a
lot more mainstream than some of the other stuff I come up with.  So
what about my Clarks that LOOK like Birkies?   And these Teva rafting
sandals?  A coworker was just showing off her B'Day present cat socks
with her sandals.  Really cute.

I have some Merrell clogs - identical old & new.  Great for travel & I
took only them to Europe.

I need to go through my shoes & divest myself of all the ones that
aren't comfy.  This is one of the few benes of ageing - comfort!

This is alt.support.imelda - right?

These are rubber and some kind of plastic. not the usual suede. Cuter than
all get out but the soles are textured and they still feel funny.
