Arrived In Houston

We are here in Houston. The RV park is very nice. Quiet. They say 75% of
the campers are under the medical rate. The RV park has a free shuttle
to the major medical centers here.

I met two cancer patients while walking the dog. We agreed that we need
to start a support group.  It might be a good idea to just share with
others for a little while in the late afternoons. What do you all think
about it? It would take my mind off of my self.

For my fellow Americans, here's a website you might enjoy on
Independence Day. For our UK, friends, sorry <g>

I will try to keep you all informed with my  evaluation process at MD
Anderson.

Hugs,
Janet

Glad to hear you made it there safely & that the place is nice.  Support
group sounds like a very good idea.  Maybe Happy hour?  Is there a pool to
gather around?  It's nice to have community instead of just isolated hotel
room.

Thinking of you lots.  Hope all goes well.

No pool. Just a laundry room, computer room/library. Not even a shower
house or public rest room. All units have to be self-contained. Not much
here for the kiddies which keeps it nice and quite. <g>

Thanks, Fig.

Good luck with your evaluation, Janet.
We celebrated Canada Day on July 1st.

So Canadians have 'boots' instead of 'trunks' too, huh?  In the Eastern
USA, it's 'tag sales.'  Here in the West, it's 'garage sales.'

I say, call it what you will, just get rid of all that clutter!!!

A friend is having a pre-garage sale - serving breakfast & lunch to all who
come to help her sort through garage accumulations.  We get 1st pick of
anything we might want.  Then she will spend equal time with each of us,
helping with our icky tasks.

Actually, I can see things reversing themselves.  At the risk of being
flamed for being political, it seems to me we're subjugating ourselves
to the US - and I don't like it.  Not, you understand, because it's the
US: I wouldn't like it whoever it was.  I feel the same about the EU,
but to a lesser extent.  Or maybe it's just the marriage between Bush
and Blair that I distrust...

Yeah, we celebrate losing wars all the time here in the USA - marching
bands, pagentry, speeches, yeah right!!!

Fig, who recognizes sour grapes for what they are

btw, some here think USA's days in the sun are coming to an end.  Socks
did.  And it's more than just Shrub.

Sour grapes?  Wasn't meant to be, honest...

I've got to be honest, the combination of Dubya and the bLiar is a truly
terrifying one.  Trouble is that here in the UK we don't have a viable
alternative to replace the bLiar - and that's even more scary :-(

I think I'll run away to sea.

Book a double cabin - I'll join you.  We'll be boat people - on only
the finest cruise ships, natch!

It works reverse here.
Friends bring things; then say "have a yard sale for anything you don't want"
So now I've got more "clutter" to clear out. :p

First time I ever heard of 'boot sale' was in Spain when my host told
me of one down the hill.  Spanish leather boots -  ALLLL RIIIIGHT!!!
Let's go...    :-(

I think it's an excellent idea Janet.  I've not been to any support
groups myself but my mother attends one locally and finds it very
valuable.  She was introduced to the NG a while back but she's not
interested in being involved here.  She does appreciate the fact that
there are people out there rooting for her though :-)
