Hear, hear. Not long ago my local library was being refurbished - and
guess what, they 'found' asbestos. Hardly surprising really, but in an
area where people are still trying to claim compensation from the coal
board (or whoever) for pneumowotsitcosis and other lung-related stuff
associated with the heyday of south Wales coal mining naturally people
had to jump up and down making loud and unnecessary noises about it...
So it ended up costing a lot more than it should have done (and guess
who ends up paying) and took a lot longer - when all they really needed
to do was to give the builders some quick instructions on handling the
stuff and the correct equipment to do so safely.
I love my American friends dearly, but I do wish they'd kept their
litigous attitude to themselves. Looking for someone or something to
'blame' all the time hasn't improved Britain at all.

I don't believe that it has done much for the United States either.

Nor do I, but I'm glad it was someone else that said it :-)
