Not on this recording, but I expect we'll hear from him again with the
pitch.
Consumer Reports & other consumer-oriented research organizations
recommend against buying insurance for any specific disease or reason
(such as airline insurance). If you need protection, you need it for
all perils, not just specific ones. Instead, consider LTD insurance,
term life &/or socking money away in investments.

And do it now, hopefully long before you think you may possible need it!
I'm glad I got my LTC insurance when I did. I got it under the FEDS
program -- I had a window of opportunity between "2 years after cancer
treatment and still clear" and the death of my father (which could have
occurred at any time, he was ailing in his mid-80's). I had to get my
application in while he was alive, as that was my "qualification" category.
And I certainly couldn't be sure my cancer wouldn't recur. I'm also
diabetic, and I couldn't know that wouldn't get worse despite my control
efforts. So I took my chance when it was there -- and I was under 60 at the
time. I did have to "pass" a phone interview about my health -- but much of
it was about my diabetes control.
I also got general health insurance long ago -- I paid in with little
"benefit" for many years before I got problems that made them have to pay
off much. And the cost has sky-rocketed -- but it's there & as long as I
keep up the premiums I have something. And it covers a lot more than just
cancer.
I don't have disability insurance as my income doesn't depend on
employment -- but for anyone who would lose income if they're disabled, and
especially if they have dependents, it's a must.
I wouldn't waste my money on a cancer-only policy even if someone actually
approved me for one!
