Identity Hidden - 06 Mar 2006 04:45 GMT I realized there was a painless lump inside my mouth, behind my left gum, sometimes it get as large as 2mm diameter and cause slight discomfort after meal, then I will go to rest room and scratch to break it, there is fluid come out and salty, however, it's still painless after I break it.
What is this problem? I am getting concerned since it's not curing after a few weeks.
Another condition, I get into nose allergy reactions (sneeze, runny just like common cold) and on a weekly basis. It usually last a day or so. On some of my allergy periods, there is a spot inside my right nose which became swollen and white fluid accumulate inside a bump, the size of which is about a match tip. This spot & bump always happen on same spot, it's slightly painful when it's not swollen.

If they don't have that brand, ask them to show you something, in the "oral" section of the store, that protects a mouth sore. If it doesn't go away in 2 months (8 weeks), see your doctor.

Put a warm cloth on it, 3 times a day or more. If a cloth won't fit in your nose, use a Q-tip, dipped in warm water. If it doesn't go away in 2 months (8 weeks), see your doctor.
See your doctor about your allergies. Ask your doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist for your obsession with cancer.
Quit crossposting to cancer newsgroups. If you have more questions, go ask your doctor. If you don't have a doctor, get one.
Don't bother replying to my reply. Don't ask any more questions here. These cancer newsgroups are not for diagnosing problems. Next time, if there is one, try news:sci.med since they sometimes answer questions over there. J

Could be an abcess, a fistula, a trigonum retromolare tumor, or simply a wisdom tooth on its way, but who am I to question your facio-maxillary telepathy?

Possibly, or folliculitis. Without seeing it we'll never know.

> J - newsgroup trimmed Ah, changed your mind have you.......... J, what happened to your shoot-from-the-hip diagnoses & therapies? An apology for your breath-taking rudeness to this poster from Singapore wouldnt be out of place either, or are you too busy giving (((hugs))) in the support groups, chugging pancakes and maple syrup or whatever it is that canadians do at this time of the year? Perhaps you should just cut back on the workload, I see you even feel qualified to add your 2¢ to the radiology NG nowdays..

J - 07 Mar 2006 23:42 GMT > I see you even feel qualified to add your 2¢ to the radiology NG nowdays.. That's a stretch - I did not add my 2¢ . I referred a poster to sci.med, where he got a qualified and prompt response to his question. J

If you weren't otherwise so helpful and friendly I wouldnt have noticed. I.H. didnt, but probably s/he hasn't followed your posts for that long..

I knew that he was a newbie (no Google history, under that email address). I knew his IP # resolved to Singapore I realized after my first reply, that he probably would not be happy unless one of us told him to go see a doctor and so that's what I (and you) did. Dentist (as you suggested) is probably a good idea, as well. Bad day yes, probably; so much going on, on a.s.c. that day including 2 other "do I have cancer" type threads. I tried to "nip this one in the bud" (and look now, it's continuing :p), then had 2nd thoughts because NPC incidence is higher in Asian countries. Hope this answers questions. J alt.health trimmed
N6TT - 12 Mar 2006 18:12 GMT wow, i joined this group to see if i could get some info about my wife's lymphedema that keeps getting worse as there does not seem to be a newsgroup for this. Ive been lurking for awhile now. I dont always read the digests but every time i do there seems to be so much fighting and bickering that i have to wade through to get to any kind of meat....Its enough for me, im gonna unsubscribe and look else where....Maybe i will check back again sometime.
God Bless you all,
Steve

You know, sometimes a virtual hug can really help someone so please don't run that down....... :(
Lots of people on here really appreciate the help that J gives them, both technical and emotional. She does not need to do either, but chooses to. I call that compassionate.
Also don't appreciate the dig on Canadians..... I don't understand why that was necessary........
my 2 cents.......... Penny

If you're a hugger, hug. If you're a physician, diagnose & treat.

Sure, no doubt about that, she works the NGs tirelessly. But in this case J went too far. I know, we all have our 'off' days, so I waited for a retraction. It never came. She reminds me a bit of Helen Stanbro, who did literature searches here in the old days. The difference was she just did the search, presented the results and made no attempt to diagnose or treat. I think she left soon after Paul Roda went.

I hope you gain control of yourself before consulting with patients. Your professional contributions are welcome, but your insults are uncalled for and exceedingly rude. Some people here are quite ill. You just insulted many of them. The first apology should come from you. If you have a difference of opinion with someone, you can take it up with them as though you were an adult, without ridiculing them &/or entire nationalities - as well as this support group. If you don't like how we operate, just stay away! Your reply to Penny was just a continuation of your earlier insulting behavior. Maybe you were having a series of bad days & decided to unload on us. If so, please just say so. Otherwise, please apologize &/or get some professional help for yourself.

The thread at this point was not about patients, and was unfortunately x-posted to alt groups, not my intention. You're living under an illusion if you think that someone has a monopoly on being virtuous or may not be criticised if they've had cancer. My limited experience with canadians leads me to believe that most are robust enough to withstand the clichés on maple syrup and hockey.. This is my last x-post to alt.support.cancer and alt.health if thats at all possible.

I am surprised that you haven't gone to a Doctor, especially if you think it is cancer. You must be a troll.
Identity Hidden - 07 Mar 2006 01:04 GMT > I am surprised that you haven't gone to a Doctor, especially if you > think it is cancer. You must be a troll. Wrong, I am no troll. Honestly I am asking questions. My overall health is kinda weak so I have to watch out for things.
Besides those two situations J mentioned, what else is possible? I will study each possibility and try to match with my situations.
Thx
