Hi All,

Just a quick update.  Had Chemo yesterday.  They ended up having to poke me
4 times. Ouch!  I kept blowing my IV!!
They said my veins are starting to go.  No wonder!  After the next
treatment, I will know if I can have more once we see the PET scan.  If I an
eligible, then we will have to get a port put in, which sure will help!  I
still have my hair, although it is getting kind of thin.  Ray will donate
all those new hats he got me when the time comes.  I not saying that it is
the end, after all the chemo's are done, we will take the hats to the
American Cancer Society because they do so much for those who need hats,
wigs, etc.  They are so wonderful.

I have been having some problems with pain in the spine.  They told me
yesterday that the liver is causing the problems in the spine.  I guess the
Liver is enlarging enough now to make it push against the spine and that is
causing the pain.  I can't sit in a chair unless it has arms to boost myself
up. Oh well, just one of the lovely things this nasty disease has on us.

I am still fighting this his with all I have and plan to be around for a
long time to come.  I rest a lot these days which I know is helping as well.

God bless all of you and I love you..keep those prayers coming, I think they
are working miracles for me at this point.

Love,
Odie

Give your veins a break, luv. The chemo's not working.
Ask for consult with radiation oncologist for liver/spine pain.
Where cure isn't possible, a treatment is good where it allows you to get on
with your life and enjoy life, not spend your time resting and not being able to
sit due to pain.

Thanks for the update.
Our thoughts are with you, Odie

She's feeling worse.
How else can you measure it?

I don't know-- can't you feel worse before you feel better?

An enlarging liver tumor is not a side effect of chemo.
This is (the end part of) her second line of treatment. Her first line of
treatment failed.
Obviously her second line of treatment is failing as well.

Keep fighting, Odie. If there's one thing I've seen in common in all the
success stories, it's that strong will to keep fighting. You'll be in my
prayers.

Hillary Clinton lambasted the 24-hour delay between the Cheney hunting accident
and his notifying the press. If asked why it took her 6 DAYS to notify anyone
about Vince Foster's suicide note, she'd say, "That's different, it took a
long time to forge that note convincingly."

Odie,
With your liver swelling and pain in your spine don't you think it's
time to get out of chemo, which can only be adding to your woes now, get
some good palliative care and try to get some quality time for yourself and
your family?
