We were watching Headline News and a crawl came on saying she died in
her sleep "at an alternative clinic in Mexico of cancer." (Shades of
Steve McQueen!)
It was never mentioned here in Atlanta that she had cancer-it was quite
hushed up.

Here in Denver, the paper implies she died as a result of heart
attack/stroke from last August. Then again, it says she hadn't appeared in
public for a year (excepting near MLK day), but I saw her here just last
Spring. She was a strong, dynamic speaker. I'm glad I had the opportunity
to see her.

Why would it necessarily be any business of yours...???
Perhaps the family wanted to keep such matters *private*...
DO remember that this is a *cancer* support newsgroup, *not* a "gossip"
newsgroup. Your "question" is t - a - c - k - y -- in the *extreme*.

Mayanne's husband has cancer.
State your business here.
This newsgroup has a Charter and your ISP respects newsgroup Charters.
Name calling and trouble-making are not welcome here.

Just so you know *I* have been lurking here for years - my mother at
the age of 86 had a partial radical mastectomy. Luckily she is
completely recovered and doing well, she'll be 90 in several months :-)

Spare me the lectures, the OP's question was "OT" and could have been
easily answered with a simple Google search.
Now you have a nice day :-)

Hello maryanne,
Don't worry about greg's comment.
I can see how a cancer patient (or loved one) would have what is called a
"natural curiosity" .
I guess it is a good thing that she kept it private. As you can imagine,
whenever she went to her cancer clinic, crowds could have gathered and
interfered with (other) patients' comings and goings.
What's sad to me is that she flew to Mexico last Thursday in what looks to
me as a desperate dash to false hope, when she could have stayed (in the
comfort of her own) home with her loved ones.
Aw well, thanks for advising. I heard (last night) she had passed away but
they never said of what (on our TV).
Hugs

They said on the news last night that the "doctor" who was going to
treat Mrs. King wasn't really a doctor at all and in fact had spent a
year in jail in this country peddling quack cancer cures!
