Hi All,
I have been too sick to post lately. I thought with the chemo and radiation
being done would help me be better. It is not so! I go back to the chemo
around the 11th of January. Within a week after the chemo and radiation
stopped, I became really sick. Throwing up mucus each and every time I
cough. And that is a lot! I am so weak that I have to sit in a chair while
bathing. Spent the past 9 days in bed. That included Christmas! Someone
told me this is normal, I just don't know what normal is with this.
I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Hi Odie,
So sorry to learn that things have been very tough for you of late, sending

And here's hoping that yours is considerably better than the past several
days.

my vote for President will be a write-in for Jiang Zemin.

That won't do.
With the cancer being in your chest cavity, it's hard to know if you've got
pneumonia or pleural effusions. Perhaps you should go see your oncologist (or
his "oncall" replacement) who would check temperature, and chest xray to see
amount of fluids, rule out pneumonia, do bloodwork and maybe run the situation
by a pulmonologist.
Some prednisone (increase appetite, keep you awake and upright so pneumonia does
not set in) and maybe antibiotic might be called for and if that didn't help,
after a week or so, maybe you're one who is better on chemo, than off? I
suppose it could be the cancer progressing, but you won't know unless you go
(tests could be required) and ask questions.
If it's the cancer progressing and they offer to drain effusions off, you need
to know that the fluids will come back, unless the chemo helps control that.
Apparently some have a permanent drain inserted.
