Hi,

My father seems to have caught a bug in between chemo treatments. (His
grandchildren brought a stomach bug into the house and now he is
throwing up like they have been.)

My question is.... should he delay the chemo he is to start tomorrow?
What impact will the chemo have if his body is trying to fight a virus?

I am certain it is a bug. He recovered from his last round of chemo and
in the week he was to feel his best he started to throw-up, just like
my nephews.

Thanks,
Nina

You need to ask the oncologist.
I presume he'll be having a blood count first anyway

Steph,
He did ask and the answer was vague. He/we really like and trust his
oncologist. She did suggest that it may be a delayed reaction to the
chemo, but we think it is a virus.

I guess we will see what happens, I was hoping for some insight if
anyone had any to offer.

I do know that we need to trust that the oncologist knows exactly what
she is doing.
Thanks,
Nina

Just make sure he gets a blood count before any more chemo

Dad's chemo has been postponed to next week.
