No, posts about mice aren't really helpful here.
I've been posting them or general posts about experimental medicines to
sci.med.diseases.cancer.
You may wish to read some of there.
That's a good place for medicines that haven't passed at least Phase III
clinical trial.

If you have a question about your cancer, post the type and stage here.

Why?  Aren't people allowed to discuss things and/or have dreams here?

This is an unmoderated newsgroup, after all.

J doesn't seem to understand the UNMODERATED part.

Mel doesn't seem to be able make the bottom posting work either, does he?
And you've done nothing to clean this newsgroup up, either, have you?
So butt out.

I rest my case

J:

First of all, I am here to get/give SUPPORT. "Cleaning up" this newsgroup is
a matter of perspective. I will chime in on rare occassions when idiots post
at length.

I WILL NOT "BUTT OUT"!!

You have absolutely no business nor STANDING to tell me that, This is NOT a
MODERATED newsgroup and you are NOT a MODERATOR here.

So you can take your request and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I promise to stop top-posting when you stop continually munging your
address. Perhaps you have done that?? Have you??

As stated, I do appreciate the contributions you make here in terms of
providing support and information. Your continued attempts at trying to
control and/or browbeat others is unseemly.

Which, given her caring attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
for people here, is a shame.

The next sentence is NOT meant to be offensive in any way:  I'm having a
quiet bet with myself that before she retired J was a school teacher or
a librarian.  I've got a great deal of time for both professions, BTW.

I agree with your first part. Nobody contributes more to this group than J.

This is why most of the time I haven't responded to her attempts at
continuing to moderate an unmoderated group. Her attempts at continuing to
"warn us" about every questionable post is not needed.

We have an intelligent group here. While it is nice that people can alert
others to obvious scams, J does not have to do this every time. We can think
for ourselves.

Very interesting. J certainly likes to keep up the mysterious personna.

I agree--- she is probably used to being in a controlling environment. I
suspect she is no longer in such a position but can do her controlling via
this group. Of course "she" may be a "he," but I don't think so.

She certainly has a lot of time on her hands, which is a great benefit to
this group-- but on rare occasions, it is detrimental.

It's not that hard to find information though...

People can dream all they want. From mouse studies to Phase III or IV clinical
trials can sometimes involve 15-25 years. (if the product ever gets that far).

There are millions or billions of mouse studies. (we don't need "everyone and
their cousin" posting those here). If they were encouraged here, there'd be
more of "he who we filter" posts. They can be and are discussed on s.m.d.c.
It's not that much trouble for patients or loved ones to watch 2 newsgroups
for topics of interest.
This is a support newsgroup, not a medicine or "study" newsgroup.
AND
the Charter says must have passed Phase IV clinical trials.[1]
AND it says "if your post is more about medicine post to s.m.d.c.
(all for very good reasons)

[1] We do discuss clinical trials (various Phases) if a patient (or loved one)
inquires.
The OP has not introduced him/herself as such.

If you'd bothered to check, he's spamming unproven therapies
AND
I posted the same article (but no spam) on sci.med.diseases.cancer Nov 17th
I'm done with this thread, the personal intimidations are unwarranted and
unbecoming of you.
