last night i went to a Mets game. before moving to colorado from NY 20
years ago i went regularly and have remained a Mets fan.  they were in town
this week playing the colorado rockies. a friend had tickets and took me as
his guest.

in the middle of the game, someone from the colorado front office showed up
with an autographed baseball and other soveniers of the game. total
surprise on my part, since i was not expecting it at all.  Before the game,
he got three Mets pitchers to sign a baseball for me, also a surprise.

as a fanatical mets fan i was much surprised by the gesture.  The balls are
on top of my dresser now in a place of honor. it was a neat thing for the
team to do too.

He was beaming himself.  Haven't seen him so happy & excited in awhile.
Also brought home 2 Rockies backpacks & a variety of other goodies.  Last
Spring, Socks went to Mets spring training in Florida.  Last night was just
perfect!  Thank you Matt!

actually it was 9-3.  guy from the team showed with the goodies during the
inning when the Mets were beating up on the Rockies with 6 runs.  i was
wearing my mets  warmup jacket and cap and got to rub it in some :-}

Now we finally know why you went through all this before, just to get
a few lousy autographed base ball.
Well, I ask you! The length to which some people go!!!

Good on you, Sock.
Cheers,

Wow Socks --- I too used to be a fanatical Mets fans. I lived and died with
them from their inception. I remember the days of Charlie Neal, and then Ed
Kranepool and Ron Swaboda!!! It was great when they won it all, too.
