I was just searching Dougie, on other newsgroups, since it's been ages
since we've heard, and found this.
Looks like it was posted from a different type of forum to this newsgroup.
Repost because Alayne missed it.
if you're reading Dougie, my heart goes out to you...

Dougie,

If you are still lurking in this ng. my heartfelt condolences to you.
Jacqueline fought her battle with such bravery and I hope that the memories
that you made together will last for your lifetime.

I'm so sorry, Doug.
I was devastated to hear the news.
I just can't fathom how incredibly painful losing Jacquie must be for you.
Talk to us, Doug.
There must be some writings just aching to get out of you.

Loss is never easy Doug, time heals, bad memories fade and are replaced with
good ones, tears don't fall so often and are sometimes replaced with smiles.
I'm coming up to the 2nd anniversary of losing Tony and want to reassure you
that the sadness does fade but our love can be as strong as ever.

If you ever need a friend or a Warm Hug, simply come out of lurking.

Warm Hugs

Hi Dougie,
I just want you to know that I am sending you hugs and I hope that all
the loving memories of Jaqueline  will help you to smile for her and
your love that you shared.  Some days will be long, some will be short.
Some you won't even realize what day it is, but you will always have
your love for her, and the memories may be hard to bear but they do
have a healing effect.
Take each breathe one at a time.  That's the best advice I can give.
Hugs and angels friend, there are many of us here to help you

Hello Salisha - how're you doing?

I try to be a good example to my children, but they just see me as a
dire warning.

Dougie - 03 Aug 2005 06:49 GMT
I'm doing the "Walk For Wellspring."
http://www.novacks.com/walk/default.asp

Wellspring is a network of centres that provide emotional and
psychological support, free of charge, to individuals and families
living with cancer. Wellspring provides a wide range of cancer support
programs and services to serve the emotional, social, and
informational needs of people living with cancer, and those who care
for them.
https://www.wellspring.ca/

My Wife got a lot of use from them so I am doing this to give
back to them. I already have the minimum amount of pledges to be in
the walk. However if anyone would like to sponsor me as a walker for
the Novacks Walk for Wellspring in London, go ahead. You can e-mail
them or call them and tell them you want to sponsor Doug Nemeth. Or
you can fill it out on-line. A lot of people outside Canada though
have called, or e-mailed and sent cheques directly to them via mail.
https://www.wellspring.ca/donate/

Again, I am not asking you to do it because I already reached
my minimum. Someone just e-mailed me asking what I am up to. I'm still
trying to put my foot up cancer's a.s.

I reached my fundraising goal which means I can enter the
walk. I told you this wasn't over.

I won't let you forget us. I promise I will be a thorn in your
side until the day you cease to exist, cancer.

    Count on it.
