Hi
Since early Jan I have had little or no appetite. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated in finding it. What have others done?

Medical Marijuana will give you the munchies as well as tone down nausea and
upchuck moves.

Get some good pot - in two or three puffs you will know if this medicine is
for you ... and in 30 minutes after getting a theraputic dose so you want to
stop medicating yourself ... see if you are hungry and start to put on
weigh.

AIDS been using marijuana for "wasting syndrome" for a very long time with
the cops and Feds on their a.s for decades ... and with being on their a.s
they have not been nice about it at all.

An Abner Lou-ee-ma sort of thing ...

Hi Sam.
prednisolone or dexamethasone increase appetite; megace is too expensive.
There can be side effects (depending on the dose, but my cat started eating huge
amounts the day after starting  prednisolone) to prednisolone or dexamethasone;
weight gain, mostly fluid retention which can affect the brain and if I recall,
falling asleep problems.  Let's see..I think we also had to watch the liver
and/or kidney function with steroid.

And like Alan said..medical marijuana is used by some for appetite. Some
partners can inhale the smoke & hold in mouth, then exhale into the nose of the
person, so it's absorbed into the nasal blood vessels, instead of into the
lungs. But I don't know the exact trick of doing this. Some say it doesn't work;
others end up with voracious appetites about 2 hours after a couple of puffs.
Don't get arrested if you try this..

Watch for Mike R, maybe Alayne (if I'm wrong).
Hugs luv

Dexamethasone certainly increased Tony's appetite (although he was on it
because of inter-cranial pressure) and the get up and go feeling.  Downside
was he got a skin rash all over his arms and it can do damage to the stomach
lining, although Lazaprazole was taken to counteract that.

With regards to pot, this can also give an increased appetite "the munchies"
and I've known some that don't smoke to use it in baking - cookies and
brownies etc.

Warm Hugs

pot works wonders.  ingested with food though, not smoked

never did a danged thing for me;
digestion may play role, but it's my theory that baking waters down the
potency.
(unless a person inserts the potent bits into an already baked, for
instance, muffin or brownie.
Or uses pot oil (which I've never tried and I think is expensive - it's
expensive because of the concentration and processing) in the recipe
instead of the called for recipe oil.
It would be interesting to try oil smeared in the nose?

socks ... try not to think like a pussy so much ...

people with wasting syndrome, nausea, vomiting ... can not even take water.

they upchuck water, pills, brownies, capsules ...

the only way to give antiemetic medications is with a shot, patch, up the
arse with a suppository or inhale it via gas.

smoking pot does this ... very quickly, and as soon as the patient has had
enough - they turn the drug off immediately.

very accurate self medication protocol.

they are dying from cancer ... and smoking is bad for them.

seems you have not been down this road and have no experience to speak of is
my guess.

but next time you cant eat - go put some pot in your tummy.
