Thanks. it gives me an excuse to get home one last time.  I'm even paying
the way for a brother who is too broke and too far away to get himself
there.

It's sad that it takes a crisis to pull a family together again, but that's
the way of the world these days, I hope that something positive can come out
of your reunion.

Warm Hugs

One reply for all -  he was 81 yrs old. he had diabetes.  he lost a leg
to it.  he was senile and he had Alzheimers.  he couldnt remember the
names of his own children.

When he was younger and intellectually alive, he had numerous patents to
his name.  He served as an officer in the US Merchant Marine with
distinction during WW2, running supplies to England and the continent
across the north Atlantic.  That branch of the service reportedly had
more casualties than any other branch of the US military.  When it comes
my time to talk at the service, that's what I intend to talk about.
Anyone interested in helping with research pointers in the next 48 hours
would be appreciated.

I think he decided that his time had come to take his leave.  I can't
blame him.

Thanks Socks.
And good luck with the Gemzar.
Maybe I'm just too much of a worrier.
I just noticed that Lowkey was dx'd with Stage IV CRC with "many, many liver
mets" in yr 2000 and after of/off chemo, he was good until Fall 2000, so
there's hope yet for much more time for you? (I hope)

If you can keep your head when all around are losing theirs...
then you've failed to grasp some important aspect of the
situation.
