:-( I'm sorry to read the news, Socks.
The liver is a fairly big organ. Hopefuly it'll hang in there for some time,
at least until after the Wales trip.
Congrats to figgertoes on new job.

This was the most likely way that i was going to go out, and it wasn't
particularly surprising, other than surprising that i lasted this long.
They are going to throw navelbene and something else at it
(gemcitabene?). I went looking for data. Lots of data on gemcitabene but
not much on navelbene. With gemcitabene trials, median life expectency
from start of chemo on advanced metastatic cancers was 5.7 monthes.

she got home from the first day without being fired. guess there is
hope there.

just started gemcitabine/navelbine every other week, two weeks ago.
first course resulted in 'chemical phlebitis'. took out about 10-12 inches
of the vein they put it in.
got a port-a-cath yesterday and got second round today. cath works great. no
pain, aching, etc.
my advice is to get a central line (port-a-cath) before you do the first
round.
navelbine is a vessicant and gemzar is an irritant.
i get 1 1/2 liters of normal saline with each course.

Good to hear from you, wray.
Goodness me, it's been ages.
Best wishes and keep in touch,
