Hi. New to group.

I had an ependymoma removed, but have chronic pain problems.

On morphine slow release caps with liquid morphine for breakthrough
pain, but have major problems with constipation.

I have been on coloxal/senna pills, but no longer doing the job.

Started on a lactulose liquid, but this makes me too loose. Any
recomendations for something in between?

Cheers

Adjust the dose of lactulose (down) until you get it right.
Maybe go back to coloxyl/senna alone but increase the
dose up to 4tabs twice daily and if needed add agarol (liquid paraffin)
Try changing from senna to bisocodyl tablets
Use fibre supplements (granocol etc) but remember to drink plenty.
Try movicol sachets

Thanks, I'll go and raid my local pharmacy.

I have been supplementing with kiwicrush (kiwifruit juice) and prunes,
but I detest both. Mind you, lactulose doesn't exactly thrill the taste
buds either ;-}

I'm taking 400 mg of morphine per day amd oxycodone as needed.  Two
senna tabs twice daily coupled with 250 mg stool softener gel caps
three times daily stopped working for me.

I mixed Milk of Magnesia with Dulcolax tablets in recent days.  My wife
also mixes flax seeds, which are ground in our coffe grinder, with hot
apple juice twice daily. Tastes vaguley like oatmeal.

It cleans the pipes out nicely.  I last took Dulcolax on Sunday and the
results were still satisfactory late Tuesday.

Have you tried Benefiber?
You can mix it in just about anything & not even notice it as far as taste
goes. But it will make porridge even thicker! Stir it in after the
<whatever> is cooked or ready to eat.

Not sure if we have Benefibre this end of the world (New Zealand)but
will have a look.

Trying natural senna with lower dose of lactulose.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll let you lnow how things go.

Sheesh, never would have thought a few months ago I'd be discussing my
bowels with the world.
