Thanks Bev.
If you're reading and wondering, someone else was continuing to post as
"J'. (what a ridiculous and confusing for others situation)..
Yesterday was my first day back on newsgroup, since March 18th.
Thanks again and hugs Bev

Welcome back J - good to have you back here, NG sure has been quiet without
you.  I hope that your computer troubles are properly sorted - I know how
frustrating that can be to be stuck out in the wilderness.

Warm Hugs

Thanks for the hugs, Alayne.
I hate to say this, but the same nerd "fixed" it as last year and I'm having
same problems..
My "resources" drop to 27% and it locks up on me. :(
He installed what he wanted, not what I wanted, he tweaked it his way.
So unfortunately, I'm considerably handicapped in how and what I do.
I should have done something after the explsion last summer.
Ever had an explosion inside a computer box?
Two nerds shrugged and asked if it was still working and I said "yes", so they
said "carry on then".
Big mistake..
Aw well..still thinking about how to solve this.
Thanks for asking
Hugs Alayne

I wish I was more techno myself J and perhaps I could have offered you some
advice, but be thankful for small nerds anyway ;-)

Yes, erm have had an explosion kinda, something to do with my teenage
daughter trying to connect her digital camera into the back of a live
computer (in my absence); end result bit of a flash, bit of glowing and some
smoke.  I kinda guessed something was wrong when I returned (only nipped out
for a minute) when she was standing on the doorstep with tears streaming
uttering those fateful words "promise you won't kill me".

Fortunately I have a good nerd that comes and sorts probs out, he even made
me smile when he said that Kelly takes after her father (they've knew each
other since they were 3).

I also had a little e-mail problem and had to re-type in my ntl password for
some reason, tried and tried for a whole day; then installed the ntl medic
which gives on-line help (very good); and we came to the conclusion that an
o should have been an 0 - never could read Tony's handwriting ;-)

Oh, it was you who had the explosion. I meant to ask what the problem was
because I had my explosion lurking in my mind, but I forgot to follow up with
you.

O and 0, even on a computer are hard to distinguish.
Glad you got it sorted out.
For now, I'm "killing" a lot of the nerds' "bells and whistles" which I did not
want/ask for to be installed.
Gotta keep messages short - we're in the middle of a big wind storm and the
power keeps going out.
Hugs to you, alayne,

Okay, I'll keep my message short but just thought that I would let you know
we have just had a glorious spring day here in the UK, perhaps the sun does
shine on the righteous ;-)

Hugs back at you.
