I'm a 28 year old male who has a mole on my wrist that has been there for as
long as I can remember. The color of it is brown with 1 hair coming out of
it. Three days ago, a red bump appeared out of nowhere right under the mole
as if it was part of the mole and it itched. It looked like a bug bite. It
only itched for a few hours that day. It never bled or became scaly. I
don't recall the mole itself ever becoming itchy. Three days later, the
red bump is gone. I've read different websites about moles changing color,
size, etc, however, I never read anything that specifically said if a mole
is cancerous that the mole characteristics will come and go. An example
being the mole is just "normal" one day and the next day it's a different
shape, color, size, etc, then a couple of days later it's back to "normal".
Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks.

If you have medical insurance go to a dermatologist.

I'd get that checked out if I were you.

It may have just been a pimple but then again, it may not.
My wife, red haired (hers!) fair skin and freckled complexion always
had some moles.
At age 62 she noticed one a little larger at the fore head hair line
and a second one at hair line on the neck.
Her doctor sent her to a dermatologist, who decided to remove them.
The pathologist report came back, benign.
Three years later, last summer, she was not sure but thought one on
her right fore arm which was there since childhood seemed to have
become larger.
Since she had just gone through a lobectomy for lung cancer, I
insisted that she see her GP, who in turns sent her to the
dermatologist.
The mole was removed and the biopsy report came back as positive for
melanoma.
She went back under the knife for a large area deep scraping to see if
all the cancerous tissue had been removed.
We are happily reported here earlier that it had but, it shows that if
one does not feel at ease completely with a situation, one should get
a determination from a professional.
Melanoma, like lung cancer, is one of the nastier ones as it may have
spread too far by the time one actually feels pain or excessive
discomfort.
Even if you have to pay for it, have it seen to in order to have peace
of mind.
Good luck,

Thanks for the response. As you mentioned, I plan on calling a
dermatologist tomorrow to schedule an appointment as I'm not quite at ease
about it and it has been off and on my mind the past few days. The mole
still looks "normal" and it looked normal even when that "pimple looking"
bump appeared to be part of it. The "pimple looking" part is gone now, but
I'm still going to have it checked. Thanks again and great to hear all is
well with your wife.
