Dear group,

After a long break, there is wonderful news to report.

Baz's first post-treatment CT scan and x-rays came back yesterday
afternoon. There are _no_ signs of cancer in his chest or abdomen. There is
some damage from the radiation therapy, but it's relatively minor, and I'm
not too sure what kind of damage it is (Baz was so overwhelmed that he just
doesn't remember the details on this).  We're grateful. Very, very grateful.

Love to all,
Morgs

Morgs,

What wonderful, fantastic news!
This is marvellous - all the very best to Baz and you - you must be reeling
in shock.

Yes. Shocked (because we never considered there might be an endpoint--even a
temporary one. One day at a time, you know?). Baz developed quite a headache
after hearing the good news, but we attribute this to anxiety and relief and
Lord knows what else!
All the best to you.
Love,
Morgs

Morgs

Just watch him - some people who get the all-clear reel because they don't
believe it and some find it hard to accept. I don't know if Baz did this,
but someone I know had started preparing for bad news and found it difficult
to change the mindset that it wasn't all over.

Sorry to sound a "downer", I am sure that he will live each day with a smile
on his face. I just wanted to, I don't know, I just wanted to caution you to
watch for it.

Fantastic news about his results, what a lovely thing it is to hear of
success.

My very best wishes to you both
Sinead

You don't sound a downer at all, Sineaad. You offer sensible advice! I will
keep an eye on him--he's spent quite a while living under a cloud, and I
won't expect him to emerge spontaneously with a whole new outlook.
All the best to you,
Morgs

Thank you Alayne.
I wanted to share--it's so important that we're reminded that there are
successes in dealing with cancer.
Hugs to you

What next? Checkup every 3 months?

Thanks J.
As he's keeping the port in for at least a year, he'll be going in every
month for a flush and blood tests. He'll see his doctor on the 10th, and
we'll know more about his checkup schedule then.
Best,
Morgs
