Hi
Well with all I have learned from all you's and the Dr, My dad has
decided against any treatment. He said NO. If he need's any help he will
get pain med's from his primary Dr.         I KNOW he will not go back.
I am so frustrated. I explained every detail to him. I gave him a
reality check. and he just kept reading the newspaper so I left before
he whacked me with it. I have to call his Dr today. Thank you for all
your help. I will keep you posted

Hello Z,
He's 87.  At that age, some people only opt for palliative (symptom relief)
care.
He has a right to say "no" to aggressive treatment, if he understands the
situation and everything that's been explained to him.
Maybe there's risks (for him) to the Zometa and Decadron?
If there aren't (risks to him), maybe he would consider those to try and
slow any inflammation or bone destruction?
Perhaps you could ask that of his doctor?
However, if he's informed and made his decision, I wouldn't push too much.;
We can be here if you feel like venting your frustration or questions and we
won't whack you with a newspaper. <smile>
Wishing you quality times with your father.

You made me laugh too. Dad died 6? years ago.
But you took me on a trip down memory lane.
When, we kids, started arguing amongst ourselves, he'd slowly roll up the
newspaper (his way of saying "behave yourselves")..
We could hear the sound even from another room.
That was enough for us. That shut us right up <g>
Many hugs Z
