NCI-designated Cancer Centers (P30)
Cancer Centers Listed by State

What qualifies these to be listed? I know there are at least two cancer
treatment hospitals in DC but only one is listed -- & I don't mean places
that may treat a few cases, but more "major" type centers that do a lot of
it & also research as well.

I don't know bj,
There's a "contact us" form and email address there, if you'd like to find
out.

You need to meet certain requirements listed on the web page.

Well, that seemed mostly about research and clinical trials.
Although important, it's not (necessarily) what I'd be looking for when
picking a cancer centre.

I'd want the best one (for my cancer) nearby. (with some exceptions for
certain surgeries or rare types of cancers).
I spent quite a bit of time exploring it and the links off it, not a word
(that I could see) about radiation therepy, (for instance).

The NCI-designated is in the FAQ. That's why I posted it.
I might stop posting it.

What type of cancer are you being treated for or is this just a hypothetical
?
I choose to go to NCI center for my initial treatment and now see a local
oncologist. I find my local oncologist very knowledgeable. When I was first
diagnosed I was eager to join a clinical trial but did not qualify.
