there was a thread here a few days back about nausea, and using ginger to
combat it.  I went digging for the stuff that we use.

figgertoes favorite solution is organic ginger snaps that come in .4g sized
pills. They are a combination of ginger root, molasses, and cane juice.
Kind of tasty actually.  You can get tins of them from

Hey Socks
I tried to drink ginger made me sick, I got the red in the little vials
man oh man talk about heaving my toes up, I have not tried the cookies
or snaps so maybe they would be ok, but even the ginger soda made me
ill.

Use Google and type in CIMER and go to Reviews (then plants) on that web page.
there's lots there about ginger.
They mention doses IIRC, capsules are supposed to be better than powder.
they also mention gallbladder.

So I typed gallstones and ginger into Google (try that and just look at the
Google summaries, not each web page) and more than one website said something
about ginger increases bile production.
Others mention gallbladder issues. Is your gallbladder ok?

Figgertoes checking in here after an absence.  I have used the chewy,
crystalized ginger for years for nausea caused by motion & just as a treat
because I like the taste. I find it in supermarkets & health food stores.
However, it is quite hot & spicy. We have used many forms of ginger for
Socks' non-chemo nausea.  We got some sweeter, chewy candies from the Thai
market. A microbrewery in Ft. Collins brews its own ginger soft drink which
is stronger than what I've found commercially.   Even gingersnap cookies
are good if you're up to a little food.  Wild Oats sells a tub of really
intense cookies. Whatever the form, it all seems to work - and pretty much
instantly.  For us anyway.

Bush wants to spend $80 Billion to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure.
Is it too late for Colorado to surrender to the US Army?

Welcome back, Figgertoes.
How did the visit go with Aunt Ruth?  Or is she still there?

Gone. it was a blast. we should have done this years ago.  Someone forgot
to tell her that she's an old person, and we got some serious partying in.
She had more life in her at 79 than my father, her brother, had in him at
45.

I've found that the best crystallized ginger comes from a Chinese
store called chungchoucity.

I shop at their New York store on Grand Street in Chinatown.

They have a web site at: www.chungchoucity.com

I have no affiliation or commercial interest in this. Strictly FYI...
