You tried to take a shot in that chemo didn't you? Thought
you'd make yourself heard with the histimine schock and then the
midnight visit to the hospital did you? We know you're there but
here's the surprise.
You're going to lose
You're getting desperate now aren't you? You're losing ground
all over the place now. More and more people are gathering to fight
you together. Friends and family.
You'd like to isolate us, tear apart family, instill fear,
send us gently into that good night.
It's not going to happen, we never lived lives of quiet
desperation before and we won't start now. If someone is going kicking
and screaming, it'll be you.
She's going to go back to work next week whether you like it
or not. It's only a half day per week but you won't stop us. It will
grow until you can't take that away from her anymore either. Your
little attempt at roaring to scare us was pathetic.
In my head I imagine our small group standing atop a hill
facing the oncoming storm. As it hits, more and more people join us
and hold hands. We grow bigger, stronger.
I hope you can feel the fear we represent to you. Our
batteries are charging. I told you in the beginning we were going to
war, the drums are starting to thud again and we're coming back to
take back more of what's ours.
I can feel the power growing with us. Like a white light
enveloping every one of us. Everybody fights, nobody quits, and no one
gets left behind.
We're your cancer now.
