I wish I were not heading East for the month of August, or I would head a
little west to this event.  I think any reason for going to Monterrey, is a
great reason.  But, this one sounds extra special.  I would love to see my
onco in an apron!!

Anyone able to go to this, please say hello to the sea lions for me.
Monterrey is one of my all time favorite places.

Bob,  Just wanted to say you are one lucky guy.  You live in my dream area.
I have traveled all over the US and lived in many places.  But, I gotta say
that the CA coastline from Big Sur to Monterrey is the most beautiful area
in the US.  I, personally, love Big Sur.  Mountains, ocean, woods,
everything that grounds me spiritually.  You are one lucky guy!

I am aware of that.  Two years ago Barbara and I sold our house here,
bought a big honkin RV (motorhome) and embarked on an adventure.  We
planned to try full timing (in the MH) and if we enjoyed the lifestyle,
continue it indefinately.  1 1/2 year through the trip I contracted lung
cancer, and we had to change our plans.  The short version is we moved
back to Carmel and rented a house for the year of treatment and
followups that I will need.  Lack of a place to park the MH prompted us
to rent instead of staying in the MH.  Now I am in full remission and we
are celebrating.  There are still about 8 months left in our year in a
house, but that's OK.  The cancer can come back and extend our time in a
stick house.

I lived in Big Sur for about 15 years before moving into "town" where I
met and fell in love with Barbara.  That was 10 years ago and we are
still going strong.

While I have your attention, I'd like to say a deepfelt Thank You to
Barb and all the other caregivers that are out there.  I feel that
Barb's love and skills account for about 90% if my recovery.  Without
her unlimited understanding I don't know if I could have done as good as
I have.  Thank you Barbara, from the bottom of My heart.  Today, I'm a
survivor thanks to her.

I am sure that now that the immediate crisis is over, you and she would
enjoy a little special time to yourselves.  Dinner by candlelight, soft
music, her favorite cologne (on you), and a single rose say a lot.  Oh, and
don't forget the chocolate!!
Take Care,  Sharon
