Ostomy IRC Support Chat - Saturdays.
http://www.ostomysupport.info/chat.html

8pm UK Time which is 3pm EST ish.
A clock showing the current UK time is also on that page. Look at it to see
the current UK then you can work out what 8pm UK is in your part of the
world.

All ostomists welcome, whatever the condition, whatever the age.

Go to the URL above and can join us in the chat room from there. A
free-to-use Java Client is embedded into the page that is dead easy to use.

If you use mIRC, or Besirc or some other IRC Chat Client, here's the server
details you need to connect:

Server: irc.zirc.org
Port: 6667
Channel: #ostomyland.

WebTV Users, you need to use your own TV based software to join us -
included free as part of the WebTV browser software. Use the server and port
and channel
info when requested by your software to join

=========

Don't forget that the channel is now open 24/7 for general chit chat during
the week. The more people who visit it regularly the better the chances of
finding ppl to talk
to in there at any time of the day.

Look forward to seeing you in the meeting Saturday night, or later on in the
week for a good ol' gossip on anything and everything...

Have a great weekend everybody

Bye now,

I noticed in the Google archives that there's also a #cancer IRC so I joined,
but when I try to connect, it says "invite only". That's fine by me. I was just
trying to see if anyone was using it or if it might be appropriate for those
wanting to discuss issues that the Charter doesn't allow here and it seems that
it might be if it's invite only. People have to kind of agree when they'll meet
there and get the time zones straight unless there's a prearranged schedule set
up ahead of time. (as the above seem to have done).

FYI and FWIW

PS If you don't know what MIRC is, neither do I <smile> I've used it a bit
..it's kind of like chat.  But the ones I was on they kept changing colours and
sounds (too much happening all at once for me) and seemed to be talking in
acronyms that I didn't understand. The worst was they kept wanting to send me
big music files, so I gave up. That would NOT be the case in #ostomyland nor
#cancer, I would think.

Here is the scoop on mIRC: www.mirc.com

If you use Internet Relay Chat be sure you have an Anti Virus program with
the latest updates. It is very easy to get a virus in IRC.

Thanks Jerry,
that was also one of my concerns with the music files, besides being so slow on
dialup.
Also I realize my #cancer wouldn't be helpful, because now I can't refind the post/
who the poster was.
Googe (archives) doesn't search well on "#cancer " (unless you know how to find it?)
and it's by invite only, so I don't have a clue who accepts (or turns down) the
invite nor who to ask.
But thanks for the information, in case some are interested.
There's also a #cancerrecovery IIRC on mIRC
