How to block newsgroup posters, in Outlook Express

Highlight/select the post.
click on 'message' between 'tools and help' at the top of OE...
then click on block sender...

from there it is automatically done...
it asks you if you want all their messages deleted right now (yes or no)
and voila...
you will never see another message from that sender.
(there may be other options there, like "mark as read" as opposed to
delete..your choice)

or if doing it the long way of typing (or copying and pasting)

poster name: Medical Watch
poster email: medicalwatch@myway.com
because it looks like an advertising and news portal

In my Netscape, it's Edit, Message Filters on the menu at the top of the
message window.

As usual, with you fake name and email address, "J"  EarthDay@example.net,
you continue to spread fake infomation and lies on unsespecting readers.
Can you point to a single, ad of any sort, popup ad, banner ad, are
solicitation in any manner.  To prove, I challange everyone to check it out.
It is simply a research oriented search engine and news feeds with slogn of
"no banners, no popup, no kidding"

But my point, still is, no one should render medical advice in these groups,
or at least without first identifying them selves.  You posted the links to
newsgroup charter and FAQ. Have you read it yourself.  Under the heading
"What is strictly prohibited on this newsgroup?", it reads -  "Posing as a
medical professional is strictly prohibited...." It further reads - "If you
have been convicted of health fraud, you are not welcome in
alt.support.cancer."

There must be some part of this post
news:JuCkc.63783$G_.42411@nwrddc02.gnilink.net that hit the raw nerve with
you.

I would like to know just one thing.  What information do you have to give
to us that is useful.  I have read you previous posts and other than
slamming J for her usefulness here, she finds some good sites for us to
research our own information, I have not seen what information you have for
us other than an email address.  Can you provide us with some useful
information pertaining to cancer and the cause, treatment, cure?..or
possibly even hope and some websites on some of these questions?  Some of us
are curious why you all of a sudden popped up here?  Just a question, not a
slander, but it is a feasible one.
Salisha (AKA "S", used after a long hard day of working and being very tired
to write any more, if you actually cared and read the posts, you would
already know my name and why I am here!)

It's a portal
http://info.myway.com/index/id/ourmission.html
"My Way makes money through clearly identified sponsored listings and text
links.
In fact, we have been profitable since our first month of operation.
Our goal is to be the best portal on the Internet"

Every time I click on it, there's two new "Google sponsored links" -
Advertising.
The web page is cluttered and slow.

I prefer Google. IMO there's nothing he will have there that can't be found
better and faster with Google.

J: Why post only two lines out of the whole page? here is the complete page
for everyone's benefit.  It is now my business to expose you.  The people
who come to this group are already hurting enough.  In my view, they should
not fall victom to your "helping hand".

Our Mission

The Internet was once touted as the information superhighway. Instead of a
superhighway, it has become more like an expressway at rush hour: slow
moving and filled with obstacles, requiring that you navigate through the
unwanted and the unexpected.

My Way has partnered with the Internet's leading search providers - Google,
AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, LookSmart and AlltheWeb - to feature the world's best
search engine along with our full portal offering...all without banners,
pop-ups, video ads, direct marketing and privacy concerns. (And a lot more.)

NO BANNERS. NO POP-UPS.

Some people don't mind a home page cluttered with ads and promos. However,
we believe that most people would rather keep their Web experience simple,
clean, and fast. And that's where My Way comes in. We don't serve banners or
pop-ups on the My Way website. Period.

This means less clutter, lightning-fast pages, and more room for news,
email, sports, finance, games, searches and whatever else you want.

NO PRIVACY CONCERNS.

Have you ever looked at the privacy policy of your home page? There's a good
chance you'll find pages upon pages of legal copy.

My Way's privacy policy is two paragraphs long. We will not rent, sell or
trade your personal information. It's as simple as that.

GIVING YOU CHOICE.

My Way provides a world-class offering of portal services. However, we
recognize that you may be hooked on one or more services offered by another
provider. To give you choice, we offer you the following options:

1) My Way Settings - Found at the bottom of every My Way page, your settings
provide an easy means of getting direct, one-click access from My Way to
another provider's email service, portfolio product, calendar, groups or
chat community. This way, you can make My Way your home on the Internet,
while accessing another provider's service with one click of the mouse.

2) My Way Search Providers - My Way Search features not one, but FIVE of the
Internet's leading search engines: Google, AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, LookSmart
and AlltheWeb. And changing your primary search provider is easy - just
click the "Search" link in your My Settings box at the bottom of any My Way
page.

3) Data Importation - For Yahoo and MSN users ready to switch to My Way, we
offer the ability to import your portfolio, bookmarks and email address book
in seconds. Click here to learn how.

SO HOW DOES MY WAY MAKE ANY MONEY?

My Way makes money through clearly identified sponsored listings and text
links. We also keep our expenses low by partnering with the best and most
trusted providers in the business instead of doing everything ourselves.

Does it work? Yes. In fact, we have been profitable since our first month of
operation.

HOW CAN I HELP?

We're glad you asked! Our goal is to be the best portal on the Internet, but
we can't do it without your help. If you like what we're doing, please take
a moment to spread the word about My Way.

MY WAY. IT'S YOUR WAY.

We're thrilled with how well My Way has been received right off the bat, but
we're not sitting still. We will continue to add and improve features on the
site in the months and years ahead. Your feedback will play a crucial role
in what we emphasize in the future. It's your Web after all.

We have the input of several experts here. We don't need you.
J
Daffman - 02 May 2004 15:22 GMT
You never did answer my questions.  J has done as you have asked, although,
I have seen her answer those questions before and sign that she is now an
expert.  You nickname suggests that you are in the medical field...you sign
in as Medical Watch.  Are you here to offer advice, sell something or just
harass?
You can avoid my question, but that make you even more suspicious.  We know
J is not an expert, you however, are just as much under suspicion.  Take
your pick, answer or not, but you will be ignored if you don't want to
answer.

You don't have to tell anyone on this group anything about J.
She is the one of the most dedicated people here.
We all know who we can count on, and it's not you.

As for your superhighway, you should have slowed down,
you missed the curve.

If you had truly wanted to help anyone here, you would have educated
yourself about this group first.

Medical Waste,

I too would like to expose J. Here are some facts to help you get J:

J is really good at finding obscure facts. J is really good at steering
people to where they can get medical answers. J has never claimed to be a
medical professional. J is good at giving moral support and hugs. J takes a
lot of abuse from loonies, but keeps on trucking in spite of it. J is
sincere. J is a recognized longstanding contributor to alt.support.cancer.
I could continue, but why should I?

You, on the other hand, are angry, annoying, and misdirected.

Get the point?

I second that.
