Hi,
They are giving my mother-in-law a low dose of carboplatin. She also has a
private room and they have a drainage tube in her nose, because she can't
hold anything down. She has lost allot of weight, you can really see it in
her face.
My mother-in-law lives by herself and she was in the process of selling her
house, but now its off the market for now.
My daughter says she may not leave the hospital. Not while there's a
blockage in her bowel.
still hoping for good news,
Dianne

Here's carboplatin
http://www.cancerbacup.org.uk/Treatments/Chemotherapy/Individualchemotherapydrug
s/Carboplatin
but since you mentioned low-dose, I imagine the blockage is the problem rather
than vomiting as a side effect.
There's also stents for blockages but maybe it depends on where the blockage is
and whether the patient is well enough because it probably involves
anesthetics.
It's tough not being right there..I know.
