Catharine passed away early this week. We knew it was coming since she
hadn't been posting to the breast cancer newsgroup since last Fall and
she'd exhausted all treatments. She's the last of the "oldies" I'd been
following for years (yet she was so young). I've been reading her posts
since 1999 (I think). She did post here and was a friend and
co-moderator of/with Rian on one of the Mensa newsgroups. I'm posting
this for those here who knew and loved her.
I know she will be missed on many newsgroups.
One of her signatures was "Character is what you do when no one's
watching" and she always signed her posts "Aloha".
Goodbye, brave lady. No more pain.

"Further to Jennifer Lehman's offer to email her narrative, I have
posted her first draft of this and the newspaper obituary notice on
Catharine's bio web page. Jennifer intends to finalise these over the
next few weeks. I will
post any further information in this thread as I get it.
Rather than emailing Jennifer as she first suggested, please read or
copy the documents from the website at http://www.cancersupporter.com.

The story links are between the first two green horizontal lines. You
can also find there a link to the amazing story of her cat, Jack, that
Juli Lawrence (Juls) referred to in her post."

I'm very sorry to have heard the news regarding Catharine. She was one brave
lady. She also took care of her mother, who was/is ill with Alzheimer's, now
living in Austin, TX. If any of Catharine's friends or family are reading, I
hope you have only good happy memories, and that you will find comfort in
them.
Best,
Trish
