Hi, I'm scheduled to have a biopsy done on a sensitive area soon. I am
wondering how many days it takes before the biopsy wound heals? I am
thinking of going off on a diving trip one to two days after the
procedure. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I'd say that all depends on the type of biopsy being done. It
probably won't take much and it'll heal soon enough, as most are just
taking a pinch or two. Check w/the doc and see, to be certain.

Huh? What do you by the type of biopsy? I thought there was only one
type?

There are a couple of different biopsies, a needle biopsy where they just
put a needle in and extract the tissue, and then there is one that they have
to make an incision and resects a piece of the tumour. That's the one my
hubby had done.
He had the biopsy done and ended up recovering for 2 weeks before even
thinking of going back to work and then it was still too hard and he had to
go on disability leave.
I think is all depends on where the biopsy is done and how much they need to
do the test, as well as the type meaning day surgery or a hospitalization
and the age and general health of the patient.
I am by no means a medical doctor, just someone with a layman's amount of
experience. Take care
