Hello again,
Unfortunately, Nicol?s? tumor is malign. The doctors are planing to begin
chemotherapy next wednesday. I have lots of things coming to my mind at this
moment.... but one is for sure: God will take care of him.
The doctors have explained too few things, and I have many questions: How
long does this treatment last? How many times shall we attend the hospital?
The tumor is an Inmature Gastric Teratoma. All that I have found deals with
older children, not with a four months old baby. Do you know any case about
so young pacient? What kind of drugs do they use and what are the
side-effects? What clinic in the US has a good reputation on baby?s cancer?
A while ago, I was talking with my wife about the meaning of all this
situation, and we could?t find any clue. Looking to Nicolas is like watching
an angel. He is so peacefull, that it seems God wants him on heaven, yet he
looks so happy thay he appears to be stiving to remain with us.
Thank you,

?ngel

You may be considering the wrong country for treatment:

I am sorry to learn that Nicolas's tumour is malign, life must be very tough
for you all at the moment.  I am sure that they will do all possible, keep
strong, keep positive and accept my warmest hugs.

Poor little guy, but he's fortunate to have you as parents.
I guess I have many unanswered questions also.
Like did they remove the cancer from his stomach?
And are the other organs (pancreas, bowel ) involved with the cancer OR exterior
to the organs ?
I searched and searched and cannot find cases such as your son's and especially
with chemo, but Steph mentioned earlier that the treatment would be chemo.

Is Nicolás well? Is he having symptoms? Is he eating.
How long does it take for him to recover from surgery?
The blessing is that most babies (I think) don't remember negatives (like
surgeries) later..

Keep us updated,
Best,
J

Today, Nicol?s had surgery again. The doctors had begun chemotherapy, and
they have put onto the baby something like a catheter. After the second
surgery he was growing quickly, and gaining weight, buy today ha has
overthrown all he has eaten. We were told that is usual. The drugs are
Carbo-Platin and Etoposid (I am not sure if those are well spelled)
Unfortunately, they has discovered a new tumor on his testicles. I want to
believe that this last one is the origin of all the others, but we don?t now
it yet.
We are seeking for a second medical opinion at the Children Hospital Boston,
but we won?t get an answer until three weeks from now.
Thank you for your care and support,

?ngel
