Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd give you an update.  After my nephews surgery his
temperature spiked (103).  It took 3 days put it has come down to the point
they are letting him go home.  He has to wait 1 month (?) before they start
the chemotherapy.  They are going for a course of 14 weeks, once every two
weeks.  They have warned him it will make him VERY sick and he will lose all
his hair (eyebrows included).  This to me is a good sign as it means they
are treating it aggressively.  Much of the main tumor in the primary site
has been identified as stage 3, however there is stage 4 in the lymph nodes.
The surgeon said his stomach was full!  My sister and her husband are moving
their camper to be nearby for the duration.  The doctor has asked his father
to play the heavy during the chemo and make sure he finishes the treatments.
We are supporting them all the way and will continue to be there for them.
Thank-you all.  It has been a great comfort to me to be able to get this off
my chest and I have passed on the information i have received for you to my
family.  This has also comforted them.

You're welcome: it's what this NG is for; mutual help and support.
You sound very positive and a lot less panicky than you did at
first, which I take to be a good sign.  Relatives need support too,
because they suffer as much as (sometimes more than) the patient.

Hugs to all of you.
