Update, My mom has gotten some movement back onher left side.
They had her put her own glasses on and swap her tongue with a spounge.
She still can't speak nor move her right side.
They did a test to make sure she could eat, while she was eaten what was fed
to her, they said some of it was not going to the stomach, and therefore
needs to get a tube in her stomach.
Q. can't the tube that is presently given her stuff via the nose to the
stomach, give her the same "ensure" stuff liquid??
Like most we are having problems getting Tricare, Medicad, and Socail
Security to steponthe ball and get the bills paid.
It seems like they are now trying to get us to take her straight home,
wereas before the were talking about another week or 2 in the hospital then
to a rehab for some time????
Are they trying to get her out because the bill are not being paid, it is
not our fault that the government is moving so slow : (

Even if it could (which I assume it cannot), they are concerned that foods or
liquids are (would be) getting into her lungs.

Talk to her doctor(s) and/or the Social Worker at the hospital.
Perhaps they think she needs hospice care now.
I do not know medicare/medicaid issues because I'm in Canada, but there's an
explanation here and it seems to be your same State.

(it's just an example. if the doctor says it's time for hospice, work with the
social worker). If there's none at the hospital, talk to Social Services in your
State.
