J,

How do we spot them? What are their defining features? Their habitat? What
do they feed on???

Cheers

They tend to be fairly well camoflaged, but nonetheless like to draw
attention to themselves.  They do so like to be thought wonderful,
but they are really quite insignificant.

Well, the purple spots are a dead give away...

> Their habitat?

They lurk under bridges, just like any other troll.

Us, mostly. Trolls are very fond of starting pointless arguments
just to get the rest of us arguing amongst ourselves; they're also
rather keen on the idea of posting 'cures' and wonder-drugs, diets
etc.  They can mainly be spotted by their sheer lack of coherent
intelligence.
